[5] stýrir kristni ‘leader of Christianity [CARDINAL]’: Sturla could possibly be referring to Pope Innocent IV rather than to Cardinal William, although that seems unlikely. The Pope had given his consent to the crowning, but the Cardinal was present during the ceremony.
