Note to Anon Nkt 72II

[All]: Sæmundr Sigfússon (1054/6-1133) was one of the most learned men in Iceland in his day. He studied in France (or the Rhineland; see Foote 1975, 67-70) and returned to Iceland in 1076. He was a priest and presumably the founder of the school at Oddi. See Halldór Hermannsson 1932b.
