[5, 6] hringmóts ‘of sword-meeting [BATTLE]’: LP gives two meanings for hringr: ‘ring’ and ‘sword’; the kenning hringmót might be construed to mean either ‘sword-meeting’ (cf. HSt Rst 10/7I eggmót ‘blade-meeting’) or, in the context of alþingi ‘general assembly’ (l. 6), possibly even ‘a circular assembly’. Similar to the latter, in combining both ‘battle’ and ‘assembly’ is þingmót ‘assembly/battle’ Sturl Þverv 2IV.
