Note to Anon Nkt 71II

[6] logi (n. dat. sg.) ‘flame’: This emendation is conjectural. Flat has the nonsensical ‘lo᷎fi’, and Skj B emends to leið ‘path’ and reads und leið skýja ‘beneath the path of the clouds’, i.e. ‘beneath heaven’ (so also Skald). However, it is difficult to see how leið could have been corrupted to ‘lo᷎fi’. The noun in question must either be short-stemmed and disyllabic (resolved) or monosyllabic.
