[3]: Gnæfa must be intransitive here and yðr in the dat. The gunnfani ‘battle-standard’ referred to is presumably that of the Goths, raised in victory over the Huns. Cf. Hárb 40/3 (NK 84) gnæfa gunnfana ‘to raise high battle-standards’.
