[2] gnúði ‘roared’: Ms. 568ˣ has glumði ‘dashed noisily, splashed’, while 109a IIˣ has knúði ‘drove onwards’ and papp17ˣ and 1006ˣ have ‘hnúði’, possibly a scribal variant for knúði. Ms. 173ˣ has hrundi ‘pushed, thrust’, the reading adopted in Frið 1901.
