[All]: The various versions of Ǫrv 134 differ somewhat. In the younger mss the stanza occurs only in the continuous Ævdr and has no counterpart in their prose texts. Ms. 7’s prose text alone mentions Oddr’s travel to Ungaraland ‘land of the Hungarians’, which he undertakes immediately after his visit to the Holy Land (Ǫrv 1888, 119, 121). It relates that Ungaraland was ruled by two young kings, named Vilhjálmr amd Knútr, who were in dispute with one another to the extent that Knútr had to flee the kingdom. Oddr offered his support to Knútr and acted as an intermediary on his behalf with Vilhjálmr, but the latter would not accept peace terms. A battle ensued, during which Oddr killed Vilhjálmr. All parties then accepted a truce with Knútr, who became king and invited Oddr to accept hospitality with him. Oddr recites Ǫrv 134 at this point.
