[All]: Oddr, imprisoned in the vulture’s nest as fodder for its young, is rescued by a giant, Hildir, rowing a stone boat (steinnǫkkvi), who has come in search of the fresh, cooked meat the vulture has been stealing from him for some time (Ǫrv 1888, 120-1). The giant rescues Oddr, whom he regards as an intelligent child, on account of his small size but good advice, and takes him home for his daughter, Hildigunnr, to have as a plaything; see the following stanza and Ǫrv 30.
