Note to ǪrvOdd Ævdr 39VIII (Ǫrv 109)

[All]: After Ásmundr has been killed, Oddr finds a clearing in a wood where a group of men and women are gathered. He shoots one particularly prominent man and three others with his arrows, Gusisnautar ‘Gusir’s gifts’, until the Irish flee into the forest. He does not discover that these men are Ǫlvǫr’s father and brothers until he has met her slightly later in the narrative.
