Note to Þul Jarðar 1III

[7] þruma (f.) ‘slope’: Probably the same word as ModIcel. þruma ‘steep slope’. It is also the name of an island in Norway (Þul Eyja 3/8). As a heiti for ‘earth’ the word does not occur elsewhere in poetry.
