[3] hnǫpul (f.) ‘grasper’: The name must be a f. form of an adj. *hnapall, but the root hnap- is unattested. It is most likely related to ModNorw. nappe ‘snatch, seize’ (see ÍO: Hnöpul, Hnǫpul; Hnipul and Finnur Jónsson 1933-4, 266).
