[7] Hneitir: Lit. ‘wounder’. The name of S. Óláfr’s sword (cf. Note to ESk Geisl 43VII [All]), which is used in skaldic verse as a heiti for ‘sword’ in general. It is an agent noun derived from the weak verb hneita ‘cut, wound’.
