[7] Svásuðr: The father of Sumarr ‘summer’ (Vafþr 27/3). The name means ‘lovely, delightful one’ (for its etymology and cognates, see AEW: sváss). According to Gylf (SnE 2005, 21), the adj. svásligr ‘pleasant, delightful’ is derived from the name of this blissful giant.
