[5] Hálfr: From Proto Nordic *hā(w)ulfʀ (< *haðwulfʀ), lit. ‘battle-wolf (AEW: Hálfr, Hôlfr). This is most likely the famous legendary king Hálfr, the protagonist of Hálf, but there are several legendary persons of this name, e.g. in Guðr II 13/3.
