Note to Þul Sea-kings 1III

[3] Meiti: Lit. ‘cutter, hewer’ (cf. the weak verb meita ‘cut’; Björn Sigfússon 1934, 135). The name is common in kennings and is also mentioned in Þul Sækonunga 2/8. It is evidently identical with Meitir (see Note to Heiti in l. 3 above).
