Magnús Erlingsson, the son of Erlingr skakki and Kristín, the daughter of Sigurðr jórsalafari (see Genealogies II.3 and XII in ÍF 28), was elected king of Norway in 1161 at the age of five and crowned king in 1164. He died at the battle of Fimreite, Sogndal, Norway, against Sverrir Sigurðarson (15 June 1184).
