Eyjólfr (EValg), from an established family in Eyjafjörður, northern Iceland (Ldn, ÍF 1, 27), was the father of Guðmundr inn ríki ‘the Mighty’ of Möðruvellir and of Einarr þveræingr ‘from Þverá’ (Eþver). Like Einarr, he is credited with a single stanza occasioned by a threat to Icelandic independence. Finnur Jónsson (Skj AI, 100, BI, 95) dates his death to c. 985.
