Antifrasis er svá sem ironía í einu orði, þvíat hon dregr nafn af gagnstaðligum hlut, sem Sveinn kvað:
116. Hlés dætr á við blésu.
Hér er sær kallaðr hlér, þvíat hann hlúr allra minst.
Antiphrasis is like ironia but occurs in one word, for the noun is derived from its opposite, as Sveinn said: [...] Here the sea is called Hlér because it gives no shelter at all.
