Hríðin gjǫrðiz hǫrð, er óðu
hermenn saman flokkum tvennum;
byskup bauð at bragnar rǫskvir
berðiz ei með hvǫssum sverðum;
þreyttir gengu saman á sléttu
(svá er Víðines kallat) síðan;
kvíða mátti hann krǫppum dauða;
