Lestir mæddi fárs í fǫstum
fagran aldr ok bæna-haldi,
mæta sýndi miskunn ýtum
meinabrjótr í dæmum hreinum;
mjúklátum var mǫnnum veitinn,
mildr ok blíðr, en grimmr við stríða,
rétta vildi hann ranga háttu
