Braut í sundr fyr sætu,
Sírnis hljóðs, men góðri,
ýta trúik engi bæti
auðs hlíði þat síðan;
gangr var ei góðr ens unga
gulls lystis enn fysti,
hverr mun heðan af verri,
hnefstr mun þó enn efsti.
