‘Síðan huldi lík í leiði
láða* runna* hilmis sunnu;
æstr var harmr, er eg Jésús mista;
aldri kom mier neitt haldi.
Leið svá fram,’ kvað lofðungs móðir,
‘langa stund, eg mátta ei ganga;
hvílaz vilda eg,’ himna veldis,
‘heiðar tjalds við stillis leiði.
