Leið svá fram,’ kvað lofðungs móðir,
‘langa stund, eg mátta ei ganga;
hvílaz vilda eg,’ himna veldis,
‘heiðar tjalds við stillis leiði.

Thus it went for a long time’, said {the mother {of the ruler of the realm of the heavens}}, [= God (= Christ) > = Mary] ‘that I could not walk; I wished to rest by the tomb {of the lord {of the heath’s tent}}. [SKY/HEAVEN > = God (= Christ)]
