‘Lausnara várs tók lík af krossi
lærisveinn, og var eg þá næri,
íturs Krists, er Jósép heitir,
ástarmjúkr og vafði í dúki.
Fýsti oss faðma og kyssa,’
fróðust talar svá dróttins móðir,
‘mínar systr og Magdaléna
mána hauðurs stilli dauðan.

We, my sisters and Magdalene, were eager to embrace and kiss {the dead lord {of the land of the moon}}’; [SKY/HEAVEN > = God (= Christ)] thus speaks {the most wise mother of the Lord}. [= Mary]
