Sáum skjótliga
skunda at landi
skeiðr vegligar
ok skrautmenni.
Fegnir urðu,
þeir er fyrir váru;
frændr mínir þá
finnaz gerðum.

We saw magnificent warships and finely equipped men speeding quickly towards land. They who were there first became glad; my kinsmen [and I] then met together.

notes: The fire, mentioned in the previous stanza, has attracted the attention of Oddr’s companions out at sea, and they come back to shore, where they all meet up again. — [5-6]: These lines refer to Oddr and Ásmundr and their companions, who were already on the shore. — [7-8]: To obtain a regular line, þá has been taken as part of l. 7 (so Skj B), while Ǫrv 1888 adopts 471’s and 173ˣ’s er and construes it with l. 8. Skald emends þá to tveir (cf. NN §2604A).
