Note to stanza2. Steinn Herdísarson, 1. Nizarvísur, 3 [Vol. 2, 362] [8] á sæ ‘on the sea’: Á lǫg ‘on the sea’ (so 39, E, H) is possible. This prepositional phrase could also go with the second cl.: heit und blés blóði á sæ ‘the hot wound spurted blood onto the sea’ (so Skj B; ÍF 28).
