It eruð heilir
harðir komnir
ór hlynviði

fallnir eru ykrir

You two unharmed [men] have come bold from the maple-wood ; your travelling companions have fallen.

context: In Ǫrv Angantýr speaks this stanza after hearing Hjálmarr and Oddr speak Ǫrv 9 and 10.

notes: This stanza is not in the Heiðr mss. The versions in Ǫrv are defective. Aside from the fact that 344a introduces the prose segir hann in the middle of l. 2 and both 343a and 471 are metrically defective or absent in l. 2, there seems to be a line missing after ór hlynviði (l. 3) in all mss. After l. 6 both 343a and 471, but not 344a, have the following lines: ok farið í höll Viðris ‘and you will go into the hall of Viðrir <= Óðinn>’. Ms. 471 omits the ok.

texts: Ǫrv 11
