Þá gengu regin öll
árökstóla,
ginnheilög goð,
ok um það gættuz:
Nótt ok niðjum
nöfn um gáfu,
morgin hétu
ok miðjan dag,
undorn ok aftan,
árum að telja.   (eddic or germanic)

(Then all the Powers went to the thrones of fate,
