context: As for Frið 5 and 6.
notes: The many variant readings of this stanza suggest the scribes had considerable difficulty in understanding some of its vocabulary, which powerfully evokes a storm at sea, viewed from the perspective of someone on board ship. Line 1 is exactly the same as Frið 5/1 in the B redaction mss. Frið 5 may well be a partial duplication of this stanza.
