Kock’s conjecture Hlín Þeópista tíndi (NN §3135), puts the name in a metrical position which it does not otherwise fill; also, the second of the visible letters is certainly <ꜵ> not <eo>. Jón Helgason 1932-3 saw no possibility other than reconstructing the l. as hýr þopta nam skýra ‘the friendly thwart ... [WOMAN] began to explain’ or hrein þopta nam greina ‘the pure thwart ...
