Auðkendar verr auði auð-Týr boga nauðir; þars auðviðum auðit auðs í gulli rauðu.

Heiðmǫnnum býr heiðis heiðmildr jǫfurr reiðir; venr heiðfrǫmuðr heiðar heiðgjǫf vala leiðar.

{Auð-Týr} verr {auðkendar nauðir boga} auði; þars {auðviðum} auðit auðs í rauðu gulli. Heiðmildr jǫfurr býr {reiðir heiðis} heiðmǫnnum; {heiðfrǫmuðr} venr {heiðar leiðar vala} heiðgjǫf.

{The wealth-Týr <god>} [MAN] wraps {readily recognised compellers of the bow} [ARMS] with wealth; there wealth is allotted {to wealth-trees} [MEN] in red gold. The payment-liberal prince adorns {chariots of the hawk} [ARMS] of paid men; {the payment-advancer} [GENEROUS MAN] accustoms {bright paths of falcons} [ARMS] to the honour-gift.

Context: As st. 47 above, except that the aðalhendingar extend throughout each helmingr and not only throughout the couplets. The variant is called klifat ‘repeated’.

Þat er ‘which’ or ‘that is’ has been altered in R to þar er (R*). — [5-8]: The near-homonyms in this helmingr are heiðr ‘payment, gift’, heiðir ‘hawk’ and heiðr ‘bright’. For the meaning of heið- ‘payment’, see Konráð Gíslason (1895-7) and NN §1508D. — [7] venr ‘accustoms’: So all other mss. The R variant, verr ‘wraps’ or ‘adorns’ is also possible, but in view of the readings of the other mss, it looks like a repetition of this verb from l. 1.
