Illr er ǫrn í sinni,
emkak sárr at kvíðak;
grefr hann sínar greipar
gular í æðar mínar;
hlakkar nú hreggskornir,
hvers er hann forkunnigr?,
opt hefk ara gladdan,
áðr vark góðr valgǫglum.
