Þat er ok sílemsis, ef einn hlutr hins sama kyns sez fyrir mǫrgum hlutum sem Glúmr kvað:
68. Brandr fær logs ok landa
land Eiríki banda.
Hér er brandr settr fyrir mǫrgum sverðum þeim er konungi fengu ríki ok fé.
Syllepsis also consists in the use of one object to signify several objects of the same kind, as Glúmr said: [...] Here, brandr ("blade") is used to signify the many swords which obtained power and wealth for the king.
