Díeresis gerir ii. samstǫfur af einni sem Bjǫrn kvað:
59. Nú læt ek at þar þrjóti
Þórrøðr vini óra.
Hér eru ii. samstǫfur gǫrvar af einni samstǫfu, Þórðr, til þess at kveðandi haldiz.
Diaeresis occurs when two syllables are made out of one, as Bjǫrn said: [...] Here two syllables are made from one, Þorðr, in order to keep the right number of syllables in the metre.
