Sólœcismus er lǫstr í samansettu máli gǫrr í móti reglum réttra málsgreina, ok verðr sólœcismus í tveim pǫrtum eða fleirum. En barbarismus verðr í einni sǫgn sem fyrr er ritat.
Soloecismus is a fault in the congruity of speech, committed against the rules for correct sentences. It occurs in two or more parts of speech, whereas barbarismus occurs in one word, as stated above.
