Um viðrlagning stafs verðr barbarismus sem kvað Auðun illskelda:
Maðr skyldi þó moldar
megja hverr of þegja
kenniseiðs þó at kynni
kleppdǫgg Hárs lǫggvar.
Hér er sett megja fyrir mega ok aukit einum staf ok gǫr svá lǫng samstafa af skamri, þvíat ella helz eigi rétt kveðandi í vísu-orði.
(Barbarismus occurs in the addition of a letter, as Auðunn Illskelda said: [...] Here megja is put for mega, which is an addition of one letter thus making a long syllable of a short one, because otherwise the full rhyme of the line is not maintained. )
