Skraut-Oddr (SkrautO)

11th century; volume 3; ed. Tarrin Wills;

Fragments (Frag) - 2

The two fragments attributed to Skraut-Oddr ‘Splendour-Oddr’ (SkrautO) in TGT do not give any information about this otherwise unknown poet. Skj conjectures that he was an eleventh-century Icelander.

There are two fragments attributed to Skraut-Oddr in TGT (SkrautO Frag 1-2). Skj includes these under the heading of Af et digt om en kvinde(?) ‘From a poem about a woman(?)’. The first fragment appears to have a woman as the subject, but the second cannot be assigned to the same poem with any degree of certainty. Fragment 1 is preserved in mss A (main ms.), B and W of TGT, and Frag 2 is found in W only.
