Anon (Mberf) 5 is transmitted in Mork (Mork), H, Hr (H-Hr) and in the Hkr mss which have been interpolated from Mork (F, E, J2ˣ, 42ˣ). The lv. is found in the so-called Giffarðs þáttr, the tale of the Norman knight Giffarðr in Mberf. That þáttr also contains Mberf Lv 2, as well as Eldj Lv 1-2. Mork is the main ms.

Spurði gramr, hvat gerði
Giffarðr, þars lið barðisk;
vér ruðum vôpn í dreyra;
vasat hann kominn þannig.
Framreiðar vas fnauði
fulltrauðr á rauðum;
villat * flokk várn fylla;
falsk riddari inn valski.

The lord asked what Giffarðr was doing where the troop fought; we reddened weapons in blood; he had not come there. The coward was extremely reluctant to advance on his chestnut steed; he does not wish to complete our company; the Norman knight was hiding.

context: The st. is recited in response to Mberf Lv 2, in which Magnús asks the whereabouts of the Norman knight Giffarðr, who was in his army at the battle of Fuxerna, Sweden.
