Lausavísa (Lv) - 1
Nothing is known of Guðlaugr (Guðl). The setting of the half-stanza attributed to him suggests he was Icelandic, and Skj places him in the twelfth century.
Tarrin Wills 2017, ‘(Introduction to) Guðlaugr, Lausavísa’ in Kari Ellen Gade and Edith Marold (eds), Poetry from Treatises on Poetics. Skaldic Poetry of the Scandinavian Middle Ages 3. Turnhout: Brepols, p. 200.
Skj: Guðlaugr: Lausavísa (AI, 543, BI, 524); stanzas (if different): [v]
in texts: Gramm, TGT
SkP info: III, 200
Neither the poet nor the events portrayed in this lausavísa (Guðl Lv) are known apart from TGT (mss A (main ms.) and W). The mention of Haugabrekka (a farm on Snæfellsnes) suggests the provenance is Icelandic.
