3rd edition

The present edition is a conflation of the Second Edition of the Manual (August 2002), the Supplement (April 2004), and various documents circulated among the coordinating editors and research associates in the period since then. It is intended for use by the General Editors and research associates only, as a convenient point of reference in checking the submitted edited matter. Contributing editors should feel welcome to consult the third edition, but the General Editors take responsibility for implementing any changes incorporated in it that are subsequent to the Supplement.
