Context: The author of FoGT gives this and the following stanza as examples of the rhetorical figure of apostrophe addressed to saints: Sama figvra er ok, ef maðr talar til heilagra manna, sem olafr qvað … ‘It is also the same figure, if one addresses saints, as Óláfr said …’
Notes: [1] þí ‘thus’: The ms.’s þí, a variant of því, n. dat. sg. of the dem. pron. has been retained here; cf. ANG §469 Anm. 3. Skj B and Skald normalise to því.
