Óláfr Tryggvason was elected king of Norway at a general assembly (allsherjarþing) in Trøndelag in 995. See ÓTHkr (ÍF 26, 299). — [1] missti lítt ‘little lacked’: I.e. ‘had the best’. One of several examples of litotes in Nkt (e.g. sts 29/5, 71/4).
