Note to Anon Brúðv 7VII

[4] Krist ‘Christ’s’: Both here and at 26/6 the gen. of Kristr occurs without the -s suffix (cf. ANG §358.2, Anm. 3). Emendation is unnecessary, though Jón Helgason emended to Krists in both locations. The kenning höll Krists ‘hall of Christ’ for the Virgin Mary belongs to a type which compares the Virgin to a building, referring to her as the temple of Solomon and the Church itself. See Note to Gamlkan Has 60/5-8.
