Note to Hhárf Snædr 1^I

[3] vekk dul ‘I bring to light a delusion’: Lit. ‘I rouse a delusion’. The poet is resuscitating a secret or delusion (cf. ONP: dul) about the dead Snæfríðr, perhaps referring to Haraldr’s delusive love and/or to the hidden corruption of her body. Haraldr’s delusion is also alluded to in the C12th Anon Mhkv 11^III.
