[7] svarkr (m.) ‘proud woman’: This term denotes ‘a proud, haughty woman’ (so CVC: svarkr). The word is derived from svarri m. ‘haughty woman’ (AEW: svarkr; see l. 2 above). This is the only term for ‘woman’ listed here that does not occur in extant poetry.
