[1] ǫðlingr ‘monarch’: The Hkr variant allvaldr Egða ‘the mighty ruler of the Egðir’ is equally possible but could have been occasioned by the attempt to improve the internal rhyme (-ægð : Egð- rather than -ægð : eig-).
