Braut es svarri ok sæta,
sveimar rýgr ok feima,
brúðr es í fǫr með fljóði,
fatk drós ok man kjósa,
þekkik sprund ok sprakka,
sparik við hæl at mæla,
firrumk snót ok svarra,
svífr mér langt frá vífi.

Blíð es mær við móður,
mála drekkr á ekkju,
kvíðir kerling eiðu,
kveðr dóttir vel beðju,
opt finnr ambátt hǫptu,
æ'r frilla grǫm sværu,
kiljar kvôn ok elja,
kann nipt við snør skipta.
