Árón gekk, þvít óðiz ekki,
ærit framm í bǫðgerð ramma
(hǫlda klauf hann heldr en skjǫldu
heiptar-fullr) í móti Stullu.

Árón reið við sollnum sárum
sæmdar-hraustr um fjǫrðu austan,
vistar þurfti varga nistir
vellum grimmr, at Svínafelli;
hǫndum tóku hjǫrva sendi,
hótat var honum dauða skjótum,
lundar unnu ljóssa branda
luktan hann í myrku ranni.

Þórarinn hét, sá er þegni mætum,
þrútins ells, at Svínafelli
rǫskliga dugði, runnr, í háska
randa svinnr, ok nauðum stinnum;
Árón hlaut af Ormi at mæta
ógnar-ráði ok miklum váða;
herðinn bjóz því hǫldr at varða
hlýra sínum dreng enn skýra.

Morgunn kom yfir mistar fergi,
mannraun hlaut þá Árón sanna,
ráðinn var honum raunmjǫk dauði,
randa storms, af Svínfells-Ormi;
stríðir varð þá vel við váða
(víðfrægt hefr þat orðit síðan),
mest um barg þá málma treysti
mildr Þórarinn, vápna, hildar.
